Our Family Advocacy service is here to ensure that you and your child feel heard and empowered with whatever you may face.
We are here for you whatever your circumstances:
You may have a neurodivergent (autistic/adhd/dyslexic etc) child or you think they are but don’t know what best to do next.
Perhaps your neurodivergent children are not thriving as they should in an educational, health, third sector, or social care setting because their needs are not being supported or properly met.
Maybe you or your child have recently received a diagnosis and you are not sure what it means in relation to what support there is available.
You might be neurodivergent parent struggling to feel heard or know what best to do to move forward.
You may have an adult child and as a family you feel stuck and do not know what to do next or know how or where to ask for help.
You might just feel super overwhelmed and need someone to lean on or talk to.
Our advocacy service can help with the following:
Signpost and refer you to services that we think might be helpful to you
Listen and support you with decision making
Fill out forms
Sit alongside you and advocate for you in meetings
Make phonecalls with or for you when it feels too challenging
Write emails and letters to help you ask the right questions and get the support you need.
Our advocates have years of experience in advocating for their own families and others, so they know the challenge of navigating the systems and understand how difficult it is to negotiate the different services and support.
Our advocates can work with you to help you understand your child’s rights as well as getting to know your own, so you can feel confident having them alongside you, to help feel more empowered. We know it can be exhausting and effortful getting your needs or those of your child met, so let us support you to navigate the challenges of the system.
Contact us today and let us know how you think we can help, it’s ok if you don’t know!
